Finnish Movie Biz

This week I was inspired to make a second video – a vlog about my last day as a trainee in Pyjama Films Animation Studio and about my trip to Helsinki to the premiere of the Finnish feature film Viraali. I named this new style of videos with the title: ON THE GO. Please let me know if you like to see this kind of videos next to the more art related stuff on my channel. Have an extra lovely summer weekend.

P.S. If you’re in Finland you should definitely go see the film Viraali!

Here I am at the red carpet with my avec the handsome Herra Kuula. Photo credit belongs to Viraali

My Animation studies

This weeks Youtube video in my Elli Maanpää Art channel is a coktail of video clips of me working on my very first drawn 2D short film at the University. My film is called Näkökulma – Point of View. It should be ready in two weeks. Oh, I’m so excited.

I was actually filming my study life because I’m taking part in this Taitteessa project where four Turku Arts Academy students vlog about their studies and everything else young people do or/and wonder about. Those episodes will be in Finnish and published in Turku University of Applied Sciences in February-March 2017. I’ll let you know when they are out.

Business Pigeon

Hello. Hello. I uploaded new Dood Elli Doo video already on Monday but only today I added the English subtitles. I love how convenient the Youtube subtitle tool was so I’m gonna use that also in the future. You can click on the subtitles by finding the sub icon from the right down corner of the display screen.

This is actually the first Dood Elli Doo video where do what I’m gonna do: tell stories while making illustrations. This one is about a Business Pigeon in Manhattan New York. Hope you like it. If you do I’m ever so grateful for likes, shares and subscribes. I’m gonna upload a new video this week. I think Thursday will become my day of new content. Wohooo!

Coffee and Doodling

I love to sit in nice cafes and doodle. That’s what I’m gonna do a lot this summer too. This weeks Dood Elli Doo was about coffee shop doodling. The main speed painting was sketched while sitting in the window seat of the wonderful Cafe Kokko in Helsinki while sipping tasty cappucino. Then the giant walked down the Kalevankatu street. Well. In doodles you don’t always need to be 100% realistic. Happy midsummer everyone!

Dood Elli Doo

My art vlogging career started today. The idea of Dood Elli Doo has been spinning around my head quite a while now but this week I got it done: speed drawing meets vlogging my way. I chose to keep the spoken language in Finnish which is my mother tongue but there is subtitles in English. If you’d like to see more videos like this please subscribe to my channel and also feel free to like/follow Dood Elli Doo in Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Woop. Thank you! Now I’m off to a mini vacation in Stockholm. Fun times.
