This week I had a chance to visit Mikkeli Housing Fair. I spent my time well by studying what kind of art have people put on the walls of their dream houses. I found three recurrent themes: Abstract, Typography and Travel. Back home I combined all of them and came up with my own design: Inspire And Be Inspired. It’s now available in my Redbubble Shop as a wall tapestry, posters and much more. See on this weeks video the visit to Mikkeli and progress of the design. Have a great weekend.

This week I was inspired to make a second video – a vlog about my last day as a trainee in Pyjama Films Animation Studio and about my trip to Helsinki to the premiere of the Finnish feature film Viraali. I named this new style of videos with the title: ON THE GO. Please let me know if you like to see this kind of videos next to the more art related stuff on my channel. Have an extra lovely summer weekend.
P.S. If you’re in Finland you should definitely go see the film Viraali!
Here I am at the red carpet with my avec the handsome Herra Kuula. Photo credit belongs to Viraali.
This weeks Dood Elli Doo is about a summer job I had years ago: I was working as a clown in a play in a Finnish amusement park called Santerin Seikkailumaa in Ähtäri. Feel free to share your funny summer job experiences?
P.S. Remember to turn on the English subtitles to understand the story behind the illustration.
Last week we were in Stockholm with my bf and family. We saw vikings, beaches and lot of red dots. I had my sketchbook with me so I made another Travel doodling video to Dood Elli Doo Youtube channel. Hope you enjoy it. With love, Elli.
P.S. I try to post new video every Thursday
This weeks Dood Elli Doo was little different but even more exciting. I edited all the material I drew and filmed during our short trip in beautiful Tallinn and intriguing Riga into one four minute long travel video. I hope you enjoy it!
My art vlogging career started today. The idea of Dood Elli Doo has been spinning around my head quite a while now but this week I got it done: speed drawing meets vlogging my way. I chose to keep the spoken language in Finnish which is my mother tongue but there is subtitles in English. If you’d like to see more videos like this please subscribe to my channel and also feel free to like/follow Dood Elli Doo in Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Woop. Thank you! Now I’m off to a mini vacation in Stockholm. Fun times.
As I promised: here it is. This is the final work I did for our 2D animation class in my school Turku Arts Academy this Spring semester. The task was to create a scene with two characters. The other one had to be a human (my bucket head is considered to have the anatomy of a man). The human has do at least one whole body movement and the other character reacts to that. We were allowed to either work on paper or on TV Paint. I chose the later because I feel it’s quicker, it’s easier to test things if they work or not (and I love using colors).
This is what I came up with. It’s a 20 second long loop. It took me week and half to do. It turned out looking a little like stop motion animation eventhough it is drawn on a wacom. I used my favourite color combination: blues and reds. The story is about gardening. The beauty and the constant work.
So please take a look and let me know what you think. Besides looping gif I made into a video which I downloaded to Youtube and Vimeo. Do you think I should add sound design to the video and make it a “real” short film? Thank you for accompaning my journey as a developing animation artist.
With love, Elli
