Teos on maalattu lukijalta toiselle lukijalle - kirjoihin uppoutujille, joille kirja on mukaansatempaavin lisätyn todellisuuden työkalu. Ei tarvitse kuin silmäillä mustetta paperilla niin lentää kauas pois toisiin mielenmaisemiin.
Tämä maalaus syntyi vähän vahingossa. Alkukesästä sain vimman maalata kesäisiä maisemia. Maalasin kolme teosta sarjaan ”Kesälaitumille”. Kahdessa muussa maalasin maiseman päälle hahmon, mutta tähän kolmanteen hahmo ei vain millään sopinut. Niinpä hylkäsin sen suunnitelman ja sain idean toteuttaa tämän teoksen toisin päin: kesämaisemasta tulikin hahmon sisäinen maailma.
In English: "Wordscape" is a painting created from one reader to another—those who immerse themselves in books, for whom a book is the most captivating tool of augmented reality. All it takes is a glance at the ink on paper, and you're transported far away to different realms of the mind.
This painting came into being almost by accident. In early summer, I had an urge to paint summery landscapes. I painted three pieces as part of the 'Summer Pastures' series. In the other two, I painted a figure over the landscape, but in this third one, no character seemed to fit. So, I abandoned that plan and got the idea to execute this artwork the other way around: the summer landscape became the inner world of the character.
