Draw With Jazza announced the Artsy Tee Design challenge finalists. There were over 800 designs submitted and three finalists chosen. Sadly my design Art Is Not For Ninnies didn’t make the cut. So it was time to take this shirt into my own hands – since I want it so bad. I uploaded the design into my Redbubble store. Now I should just choose between the Women’s Fitted Scoop or Women’s Relaxed Fit T-shirt. What do you think? Which one should I order? You can also comment by participating the Twitter poll.
Art Is Not For Ninnies also on Stickers, Tote Bags and Wall Clocks.

I noticed the art related tee print design challenge by Jazza – from Draw With Jazza YouTube channel – week ago and remembered this tee print design Art Is Not For Ninnies I’ve sketched couple of months ago but never finished. Now I got the perfect opportunity to finish it up. This is a shirt I would proudly wear myself.
The idea behind the design statement is that sometimes people don’t think visual arts for being a real profession. It takes time and dedication to make a hobby into an prospective reality and that applies from professional football to making art. When you put the hours and heart into it, it can turn into a profession. It’s not easy but when you have only one life to live you might as well spent the time working on the things you really want.
Remember Joulukorttikauppa: my online Christmas Card Shop? Well it’s not Christmas right now – even though it snowed yesterday in Finland – but I decided to open a Spring edition of the shop. There I sell my non-Christmas postcards and art prints during May 2017.
From the selection you can find postcards for Finnish celebrations like high school graduation and confirmation party but also all kinds of postcards from my illustrations and paintings. I will post the orders on Saturdays. Check also Joulukorttikauppa’s facebook page.
Thank you for checking out my postcard shop. Have an awesome MayDay! Or as they say here in Finland: Hauskaa Vappua!
When one drawing isn’t enough. On this weeks Elli Maanpää Art -video I take you with me to our summer cottage in the Finnish countryside in Ähtäri. There I love to walk around in the forests. I was so inspired by the surroundings I did two illustrations: the first one I painted with gouache and the second one I did with Adobe Illustrator. I uploaded the later design also to my Redbubble store. Thank you for helping me choose the background colour for it in Twitter and Instagram. I appreciate the helping eye.

Last week in school we spent (well) with the teacher Leo Liesvirta in front of green screen and After Effects. I was in a group with Sade Lahti, Anton Lipasti, Ossi Haapanen and Ville Kankaanpää. We five created these opening titles for a imaginary TV show called the Supreme Individual. We did them in just four days without any previous experience in chroma key. So proud to present you the outcome. Enjoy!
