Hauskaa Vappua! Glada Vappen! Happy May Day! It’s the Eve of May Day and in Finland it means we celebrate Vappu by having picnics, eating tippaleipä, drinking sima & sparkling wine and wearing our white graduation hats. To understand my design above you need to see the hat. It’s in the pictures below: on left my own selfie from Vappu 2009 and on the right (phototgraph I found from here) you can see the crowded Kaivopuisto – big park in Helsinki – with tons of white dots. This is how we celebrate. Do you celebrate the 1st of May?
P.S. This week there is celebrations after one other since this Friday the 2nd of May at noon-2pm it’s my Grumpy Cat With Friends exhibition opening in Rikhardinkatu Library in Helsinki. Warmly welcome!
