The plants turn their faces to the sun to absorb energy and when it rains they drink until they drop. PANDA OF FINLAND Last year two giant pandas – named Lumi and Pyry – moved from China to Ähtäri Zoo in Finland. It was a big event especially for the South Ostrobothnia region. Suomen lomamajat commissioned me to make paintings inspired by the mighty animals to their rental cottage Mustikka (Eng. Blueberry) near Ähtäri Zoo.

I was inspired by artists I admire:  Magritte, Matisse, Kahlo, Schjerfbeck and Warhol. Series was exhibited in Pori Arzz art exhibition in Generaattorigalleria in Pori and later in Runo in Tampere 2012.
