FIGURATIVE PATTERN DESIGN FROM FINLAND
Step into the heart of my creative process, where every pattern design unfolds from the vibrant tapestry of my figurative paintings.
Each design is born from a spark of inspiration captured on canvas. As I delve into the depths of my artwork, I pluck out visual motifs that speak to the essence of summer, drawing on my intimate connection to the season as a July-born artist. With each stroke of the brush, I create contemporary art that exudes warmth, joy, and boundless energy. Then, armed with Adobe Illustrator, I meticulously translate the ideas I see on the canvas into graphic and clean repeating patterns.
The result? A collection of patterns that pulse with the rhythm of summer, inviting you to immerse yourself in a world of sun-drenched hues and playful motifs. From swimmers gracefully navigating azure waters, each pattern tells a story—a testament to the transformative power of art to transport us to faraway shores and evoke memories of carefree days spent under the sun. Offering a sanctuary from Finland's cold winters.
Some of these pattern designs were showcased at Tyynelä Gallery's summer exhibition 2023, featuring the painting "Jump" that inspired them (see it below). You can admire the artwork depicting a woman leaping into splashing water while wearing a red and white dotted swimsuit, which has since been sold to a private collection.
