MEMORIES FROM MY E-TRAVELS
Elli Maanpää 2020 // 9 acrylic paintings on recycled dia slides
I love travelling in IRL (in real life) but the price the Earth has to pay for it is too high. In this painting series I wanted to offer an alternative way to travel. We can still be inspired by exotic places.
These paintings are inspired by the landscapes I saw in the Google Maps street view. They are painted on recycled dia slides. I asked from my Instagram followers to give me their dream travel locations. The best part is: you can travel to these places too.
This is the new digital plain air. The type of traveling you can do even during quarantine.
HOW TO TRAVEL?
1st – Click the name of the travel destinations. It takes you to Google Maps. 2nd – Drag the icon – little yellow man – from the lower right corner to the map. 3rd – Look around.
